Owner and Director: Joined the team in January of 2001 Education: Bachelor of Physiotherapy, University of Otago, New Zealand, 1994; Master of Science (specializing in Orthopedics) and Doctor of Physical Therapy, MGH-Institute of Health Professionals (MGH-IHP) Boston, MA, 2005. Certification: Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS). Clinical Expertise: Manual Therapy, Spinal Rehabilitation, TMJ, Women’s Health, general orthopedics. Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Michelle is an APTA member and President of the RI Private Practice Group. Michelle currently services on the Children's Museum Board of Trustees, Rhode Island Reach Out and Read Board, and the Brown/Guachipilincito Partnership Board(a subsidary of Shoulder to Shoulder). Michelle has published articles in the Journal for Women’s Health and New England Tennis Journal and she has produced an exercise DVD for pregnancy. She provides clinical instruction to students and she has presented lectures on assessment and treatment of the spine, TMJ, shoulder, ankle and knee to physical therapists and residents from Brown University. At a national level she has presented on Women’s Health. In 2004 she received the MGH-IHP Ionta Award for Clinical Excellence, and in 2006 she was chosen for both the RI APTA Annual Distinguished Service Award and Private Practice Service Award. In 2010 Michelle was a Providence Business News, 40 under forty honoree. Personal Interests: In her spare time Michelle enjoys staying physically active and can often be found on the streets of Providence biking with her son and daughter or running the boulevard. She is determined to maintain her New Zealand heritage so she enjoys relaxing with a nice glass of wine from her homeland with her husband. | | | | |

Certification: Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS), Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (Cert MDT) through the McKenzie Institute. Clinical Expertise: Manual Therapy, Spinal Rehabilitation, Shoulder and Knee Rehabilitation, Sports injuries Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Paul is a member of the APTA and The McKenzie Institute. He provides instruction to students and has presented lectures on the principles of the McKenzie Method, examination and treatment of the shoulder and cyriax principles. Paul is a reviewer for APTA Physical Therapy Journal and has published in the New England Senior Tennis Foundation magazine. Personal Interests: Paul enjoys watching a sunrise by the ocean with a strong cup of coffee, hiking in the fall, running on a cool morning with his whippet Abby, horseback trail riding with his wife Liz, golfing with a few Mulligans, cheering for the Patriots, but most of all, relaxing with his new daughter Charlotte. | | | | |

Areas of Expertise: Women’s health, spinal rehabilitation, manual therapy, TMJ, Homecare, NutraMetrix Consultant Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Lisa is an APTA member and past secretary of the RI chapter. She is a clinical instructor for students. Lisa traveled as the team physical therapist to Croatia in 2004 with the USA, Women's Sailing team. Lisa has published in the New England Senior Tennis Foundation magazine. She was the Chair for the Performance Physical Therapy Relay for Life in 2008 at which over $12,000 was raised. In April 2009 Lisa received the Humanics Award for leadership from Springfield College. Personal Interests: Lisa loves to spend her free time on her boat, travelling all over the Narragansett Bay.

Doctor of Physical Therapy, MGH-IHP, Boston, MA, 2009. Certification: Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS) Clinical Expertise: Aquatics, Manual Therapy, Shoulder and Spinal Rehabilitation, Sports Rehabilitation, TMJ, High School Athletics and Speed School. Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Brian is an APTA member, is a clinical instructor for physical therapy students, a mentor for Brown student residents as well as high school and college students. A local graduate from East Providence High School, Brian has been instrumental in developing the programs Performance provides for high school athletes and the Performance Speed School. In February Brian travelled to Honduras for a week to volunteer with Shoulder to Shoulder. He continues to be very active in fundraising efforts with this organization. Personal Interests: Brian enjoys a run in the morning, a good cookout, and opening day at Fenway. Brian was recently married to Theresa, and together they are happy new parents to their dog Maggie! Brian has now run two marathons and in May ran his first 50K trail run!.

Clinical Expertise: Sports Medicine in adolescent and adult populations, Aquatic therapy. Professional Involvement and Accomplishments: Kara is a clinical instructor. She was a ballet dancer for 10 years during which she performed with the State Ballet of Rhode Island, and these skills can still be noted on the dance floor. Kara also played 4 years of collegiate volleyball. Personal Interests: Kara enjoys being a mom to her two sons, relaxing at home with her husband, swimming and sunning at Sand Hill Cove, playing in a volleyball league and running 5Ks.

Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: As a recent graduate Andrew comes to Performance with a wealth of knowledge in the most current Physical Therapy treatment options. Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Lance is a clinical instructor for students. He received the CCRI Clinical Excellence Award for outstanding clinical performance. Lance is a Riverside Little League Coach. In May 2009 Lance recieved "Recognition for Advanced Proficiency as a PTA" from the National American Physical Therapy Association. Personal Interests: Lance loves to take his kids out on new adventures and going up north with his beautiful wife Jennifer is a favourite getaway as they enjoy skiing and fishing. Lance admits to his love for fantasy football, the NY Giants and his new passion for golf.

Professional Involvement and Accomplishments: Jeff is an APTA member and is our very own iron man. He competed in the Lake Placid Iron Man in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Personal Interests: Jeff has been an active runner for over 20 years and a triathlete for 16 years (USA Triathlon member). When Jeff finally rests from his training he cheers for the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. |

In 1994 Bob designed and implemented the multidimensional fitness facility at the Holderness School, Holderness NH. Bob was the 2009 Employee of the Year at Performance Physical Therapy. Adam is a key instructor in the Performance Speed School and his wealth of knowledge enables him to challenge any athlete! Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Adam plays an essential role in developing exercise programs and injury prevention screenings for people of all ages and abilities at Performance Physical Therapy. He coordinates and oversees the Shape Up RI teams at Performance. Personal Interests: Adam enjoys cheering for the Sox and Pats, playing golf, jet skiing, boating, cooking, and traveling to warm climates with white sandy beaches. Areas of Expertise: Kevin is known for his charisma, enthusiasm and expertise in sports injury rehabilitation and prevention, pediatrics/adolescence rehabilitation and sports conditioning. Kevin was instrumental in the creation and development of the Performance Speed School. Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Kevin is a clinical instructor for students and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He achieved his 1st degree black belt in kenpo karate in 2000. He is an instructor for the Functional Golf Links course. In 2010, Kevin lead a physical therapy state wide fundraising drive and raised over $4,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Areas of Expertise: Injury prevention and treatment for college & high school age athletes. Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Jen is a NATA member. She was awarded “Undergraduate Athletic Training Student of the Year” for the 2006-2007 sports season at Bridgewater State. In 2007, Jen had the honor of being a graduate research assistant to Marcia K. Anderson PhD, ATC, LAT while she completed her Masters degree. During the summer of 2009, she became the athletic trainer for the inaugural season of the New Bedford Bay Sox which is a new team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Clinical Expertise: Injury prevention, treatment of sports injuries and massage therapy. Professional Accomplishments and Involvement: Amanda is currently developing a concussion screening to be implemented at East Providence High School. In addition Amanda providens athletic training services for the Brown University Mens Rugby team. Amanda has now successfully completed three MS 150 mile bike rides. Personal interests: Need to know which movie to see? Ask Amanda, she enjoys going to the movies and listening to music.
