Dr. Aaron Ulvestad
Dr. Aaron Ulvestad, PT, DPT, joined Performance North Providence Clinic as a physical therapist in 2019. Aaron joined the Douglas Ave. team after earning a Bachelor’s of science in Exercise Science in 2015 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2019, each from the University of Rhode Island.
During his time at school, Dr. Ulvestad became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2016 and Hawk Grips IASTM level 1 in 2018. He also had the opportunity to complete the "Evidence Based Performance" leadership project. This project involved presenting injury prevention seminars to the URI powerlifting team and acting as the team's Physical Therapist.
Dr. Ulvestad also completed a Sports P.T. broadening experience that took place in London, Paris, and Amsterdam. Each experience led him to earn a clinical specialty in Orthopedics, sport, weightlifters, powerlifters, and lacrosse.
Dr. Ulvestad has always been infatuated with muscles and human movement which led him to participate in sports and exercise from a very early age. With this participation came a variety of aches, pains, and injuries, as well as a newfound respect for human movement and the process of injury and recovery. This inevitably led him to pursue an interest and eventual career in physical therapy. He continues to feel very passionate about human movement and the field of physical therapy to improve human movement and ameliorate pain.
“I think it is important to understand that as a clinician, I will always strive to practice what I preach. Exercise, fitness, prehab, and rehab are all things that I participate in on a regular basis and I would never ask a patient to do something that I would not do or have not done myself” he expressed.
In his free time, Dr. Ulvestad loves to exercise, go hiking, and experience anything outdoors.
