Dr. Kara Chace DPT
Dr. Kara Chace, DPT, LATC, has worked with Performance Physical Therapy since 2009 and is now a clinical director, partner, and a physical therapist at our Pawtucket location. Dr. Chace received an undergraduate degree in in Athletic Training from the University of New England 2003. While working as a licensed athletic trainer for West Warwick High School’s and Brown University’s track and field and rugby teams, she earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Rhode Island, where she was given the Faculty Recognition Award upon graduation.
Dr. Chace specializes in general and post-surgical orthopedics and sports injuries, concussions, dry needling, and the treatment of pre and postnatal women. Since graduating, she has gained certifications in functional dry needling and hippotherapy, which is the use of horseback riding as a therapeutic or rehabilitative treatment, especially as a means of improving coordination, balance, and strength. She is an American Physical Therapy Association member and a clinical instructor.
She has previously volunteered at Greenlock Therapeutic Riding and is actively involved in community programs that support our youth including K-Rob and the RI Special Olympics. Dr. Chace also volunteers as a project advisor at Barrington High School and North Smithfield High School.
When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Chase likes to hike, spend time with family, or go to concerts and sporting events.
Dr. Chace advises patients to keep moving, pay attention to nutrition and to stay hydrated. “Drinking water help increase energy and removes waste from the body,” she says.
