Dr. Pavel Grafov DPT
Dr. Paul Grafov, PT, DPT, has worked with Performance Physical Therapy since 2017 as a physical therapist at our Middletown location. Dr. Grafov earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, then went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. With his background as a college runner and as a current triathlete, Dr. Grafov has an interest in working with runners. His capstone project in his DPT program compared training schedules of long-distance runners when transitioning from running in shoes to running barefoot.
Dr. Grafov specializes in working with runners and in treating low back pain. He is an American Physical Therapy Association member and has volunteered as a Heart Walk participant with the American Heart Association.
While Grafov used to run the 200m, 400m, and 500m on the UMass Amherst Track team, he now regularly participates in triathlons. When he’s not running, swimming, biking, or in the clinic, you can find Grafov playing soccer, traveling or hiking.
He advises patients to stay physically active, aiming for at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise five days a week, and strength training three times a week. When strength training, Grafov adds, “Aim for eight to 10 exercises targeting major muscles per session.”
