Salvatore Palermo MS, LAT, ATC
Sal Palermo, MS, LAT, ATC joined the Performance Physical Therapy team in November 2017 after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Lasell College in May of 2017, and Master of Science in Rehabilitation Science from Lasell College in May of 2018. He is CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. He has also completed a Blood Born Pathogenies certification, Graston Technique Provider, Licensed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and a member of the NATA, RIATA, and ATOM. Now he works as an athletic trainer out of Ponaganset high school and out of Performance's Woonsocket clinic. Sal was also a recipient of the NATA Safe Sport School Award for Ponaganset Highschool 2019-2022.
In his junior year of high school, Palermo sprained his ankle and was in a flat boot and crutches for two weeks. After he recovered, he wanted to learn how to treat athletic injuries. Since then Palermo has gained clinical expertise in Emergency care, orthopedic injuries, rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities, soft tissue techniques, instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques.
In his spare time, Palermo likes to watch movies, play video games, or play and watch sports with friends; some of his favorite teams are Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics.
