Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise, it can help you burn calories, improve lung function, and even improve your mental health, but we don’t always have the time to swim laps for hours every day, and that’s OK.
This summer, we have the perfect workout for you. Whether you’re supervising your family in the pool, or just have an hour to kill before you need to be anywhere, now’s the time to fit in a quick pool workout.
Follow along with Dr. Michelle Collie and Dr. Joe Russolello with these 7 exercises.
Jumping Jacks
Walk Lunges
Side Stepping
Squats
Wall Push-ups
Synchronized Swimming
Do some laps
Tip: Try a few laps of each stroke. Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly focus on different areas of the body for strength training. By switching things up, you will get a good variety in your workout and not get bored with the same workout every swim.
