Summer of 7 - Yard Workout

Welcome to the Summer of 7, where we’re giving you 7 of the best exercises to try at 7 different places you will find yourself this summer!


Who says you need the gym or equipment to get in a good workout? The reality is, you can work on your fitness in the comfort of your own backyard.


This week's Summer of 7 will utilize your body weight to help you stay lean and toned all summer long. Whether you have time to do 5 reps of everything, or 25, just find a few minutes to get outside and get moving.



Follow along with Dr. Michelle Collie and Dr. Joe Russolello with these 7 exercises:

  • Jumping Jacks  

  • Side planks  

  • Hip abductions  

  • Planks  

  • Pushups with a rotation  

  • Mountain climbers  

  • Prone stretch 

Tip: Hold your Prone stretch for 20-30 seconds, and don’t forget to breathe through it! Start off easy and continue working on your stretch through the summer until it feels comfortable for you to extend your elbows all the way.
