Why Your Pain Isn't Worth The Wait

Has your pain been your trusted sidekick during quarantine? Throughout the pandemic, many patients have wrestled with what activities were worth leaving their homes and what they could financially afford. However, it’s more important to be listening to your body because pain is its way of letting you know that something isn’t right. That's why we have three options for patients to begin their physical therapy treatment, no matter if they want to come into a clinic or be treated virtually in their own homes.

Benefits of Starting PT ASAP

· Injury or condition can worsen in time

· Preserves and avoids further restriction in range of motion

· Saves money with a shorter treatment process

Why Should I Schedule a PT Visit?

All around the country, medical professionals are hearing that patients are more afraid of contracting COVID-19 from a hospital visit than they are of their heart attacks, strokes, or transplants. Even though the world is facing a new normal, people are still receiving diagnoses, becoming injured, and suffering from pain.

For those who held off on physical therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic, they are discovering that their treatment process will be more difficult and take longer to complete. Scheduling an appointment with a physical therapist as soon as possible is the best option for your long-term health, even if you choose to use telehealth.

Option 1: A Telehealth Appointment

If you’re not comfortable being out and about quite yet, but you don’t want to continue living in pain, a telehealth appointment is exactly what you need! Patients can speak with their physical therapist about their injury and progress, perform exercises under a physical therapist’s supervision, and have access to their treatment program on their devices. Telehealth allows you to start or continue your treatment in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Option 2: An In-Clinic Appointment

With Rhode Island entering Phase 3 of reopening, the world seems just a little more “normal” than it did a month ago. We are offering one-on-one in-clinic appointments for those who are willing and able to come in. For the safety of our patients and staff, we are conducting pre-visit health and COVID safe screens, temperature checks, requiring everyone to wear masks, extending appointment times, and changing our clinic layouts to accommodate social distancing. We are doing everything we can to keep our community safe and help our patients get better faster.

Option 3: Can I do both?

Absolutely! We encourage our patients to explore the hybrid treatment approach, with one-on-one in-clinic and telehealth appointments. This flexible plan allows patients to continue their treatment if they feel under the weather or are unable to make it into the clinic. Between in-clinic and telehealth appointments, scheduling your treatment has never been more convenient! For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 401-726-7100.
